Hackney Globe Trotter The Global Mash Up with L?K?O at Dalston, LDN!!!!

Don't miss it!!!

Hackney Globe Trotter takes a version excursion and 'half-term' break from
the regular Arriba La Cumbia Colombian/cumbia party at Passing Clouds and
travels to Ethiopia for what might well be the first dedicated Ethiopian
club night (outside the Ethiopian/Eritrean London diaspora). For those
not aware Ethiopian jazz and funk has had a massive world-wide revival,
spear-headed by master musician Malatu Astake, it is without doubt one of
the hippest music forms currently out there. Influencing hip-hop artist
like K'nann and Cut Chemist to dub acts like Dub Colossus, the jazz outfit
The Heliocentrics and even Damon Albarn and Thom Yorke to name but a few.

Providing the live entertainment on the night are two of London's finest
'Ethio' bands Krar Collective www.myspace.com/krarcollective (who recently
supported Tony Allen at The Barbican) and Addis Quartet playing covers of
the finest Ethio-jazz classics. DJ support with a mystic afro soundtrack
will be provided by Russ Jones and Cal Jader and the upstairs lounge will
be hosted by KTA and 1TA-RAW (PART2STYLE) with special guest L?K?O from Tokyo
Japan for a far-out Jap global, dub, electronica mix-up mash up.
